Karl Rove is finished with politics

I haven't seen this widely reported as of yet. Apparently, Karl Rove will no longer participtae in politics once he leaves the President's side (and head) after the 2008 Presidential election.
Bush presidential adviser Karl Rove disclosed during a Washington speaking engagement last week that he will not return to his lifetime profession as a political consultant when he leaves the White House. Rove referred to himself as "a former political consultant" and said that he was leaving the game.
I can't say I blame him. He has been on a steady free-fall for a while now, and he certainly hasn't helped the President's disastrous poll numbers nor did he help the Republicans retain control of Congress in the 2006 election cycle.

Well, good riddance to bad rubbish.

Good riddance indeed. I can't think of anyone in American politics who has ever caused such polarization among the electorate. Karl Rove is perhaps one of the worst things that has ever happened to America.

I can only think of one who was at least as bad: The man who started Karl Rove - Lee Atwater.
Of course, he repented after God gave him cancer.
I'm being sarcastic just because the Far Right claims liberals deserve punishment when bad luck gets them, but they don't have an explanation for their own bad luck.

That's ironic you mention that, I was JUST thinking to myself today "gee, I wonder how long before some neocon says Johnson falling ill is because God wants the Republicans to run the country.

"President's disastrous poll numbers"

Oh, and by the way, I saw one on MSNBC tonight that NBC had done showing Bush's DISAPPROVAL rating was up to 71 percent.

I haven't been able to find it anywhere online yet though...

Hahahahaha, Terry.

First of all, I DID see a post where someone said that on the freeper board. I'll go find and post here. Shouldn't take long.

Also, I saw that poll too, and I was going to replace the pollingreport poll with it, but I cannot find it either.

...and that should be much more important than how this impacts who will control the Senate

Under normal circumstances this is baloney. Men are dying every day, and have died throughout our history for the survival and well-being of our country. The senate is the rudder of the country and not much is more serious than the direction of our country because in turn, not much is more important than for the survival and well-being of our country. Our Senate is more important than the sum of the lives our all of our senators, none perfect, none indispensible, none irreplacible, and for that matter than the lives of our soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen who, for their sacrifice of time, service and even life, we should cherish more than senators.

But we are under unusually special circumstances, we are in the middle of a war for survival and on the crest of the 33 year holocaust of the sacrificial slaughter of our posterity, the flesh and blood of our nation's future and well-being.

Our prayers are with the Senator and his family, may God have mercy on him and heal him. How much more should our prayers be for our nation? We may not take our government seriously, but God obviously does!

Yeah, I don't understand why it's not even on RCP. I wonder if it was an error on TV? Or if they just haven't officialy released the poll yet...either way, Bush's arpproval under 30 has been a goal of mine for awhile, lol.
