Richmond, VA scores a B+ in drunkeness

The list of the United States of America's 100 most dangerously drunk cities has been published. The usual party city suspects rounded out the list of "most dangerously drunk", including Denver, CO, Anchorage, AK, San Antonio, TX, Washington, DC, and San Diego, CA. The numbers were crunched based on the following:
We looked at annual death rates due to alcoholic liver disease, as well as who's headed there by regularly downing five or more drinks in a sitting (CDC). Next, we factored in drunk-driving arrests (FBI) and the percentage of fatal accidents involving intoxicated motorists (U.S. Department of Transportation). Then, after tallying the MADD report card of state efforts to cut down on excessive drinking, we had our ranking and, for the state of Colorado, an invitation to AA.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that Richmond, VA came in 9th place out of the top 10 cities that were the LEAST dangerously drunk.

So, cheers, Richmond, VA! Of course, cheers responsibly, that is, and keep up the good work.

Having spent a lot of time in and around the VCU campus with many great friends of mine, I'm surprised Richmond did this well.

That makes sense because I know a lot of drunks and everyone walks.
